Wouldn’t it be cool if you could pick any gadget that’s on my ‘2014 Winter Sports Gadget Recommendations’ list and call it your own? Yup, I agree. And, so does Clever Training. So they’re offering up to one lucky holiday duck just that.
Be it a new GPS watch, or a super-high end trainer – it can indeed be yours. It’s like the Price is Right Showcase of sports technology products. Minus having to guess the price or pay for it.
The rules are simple here, simply drop a comment below with the following:
To Enter: The details of one workout or race that you’ve got scheduled between now and the end of the year.
Simple enough? Good.
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, December 8th, 2014 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. I’ll be giving you one device of your choosing from the list from Clever Training. Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday, assuming the interwebs work in London for me on Tuesday. One entry per person. The product will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately assuming in stock.
This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with. As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site. And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF or now via the VIP program. Plus, there’s still tons of Black Friday-type deals going on. And most of all, by using Clever Training you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!
Have a great weekend all!

a ‘stair’ run: running up from lowest to highest floor in office building to get the legs really burning :)
I think I have at least one more “run” (pathetic-feeling 1:1 run:walk intervals) left in me this year – but I really can’t complain about my limited running capabilities with 6 weeks remaining in this pregnancy. Then it’s the elliptical. And cheering at the local half-marathon that I’m sad to miss this year.
VO2 intervals on the trainer for me today!
Next week I’ll start with my 16 week trainingprogram, for the Rotterdam marathon next year. My goal is not to overtrain, not to run faster than the pace tempo, and to stick to the program!

Hard effort on the Beargrease on Global Fat Bike day – 6 Dec
As of Thanksgiving day, I had run 1000 miles this year. I generally only run every other day or so, as this seems to keep my knees happier. My goal is to break 1100 miles by the end of the year. I can do so if I run 5-milers every other day from here on out. So, that’s my plan!
Tomorrow Saturday (well, today already) I will run 14km to Clear Water Bay Beach along the hills.
10 mile long run on 12/13
Cross training workout (from cycling): run 3.5 miles to work, weight training in the gym, work… then run 3.5 miles back home.
Typical week ahead while trying to recover from a hamstring strain … 2x strength training, 2x swim, 1x spin class, 1x PT.
I’ll be in Paris around Christmas and new year’s, so I plan on going on a run… Straight to Bertie’s for some cupcakes!
Does shameless pandering help one’s odds?
I find out tomorrow if I get into Hardrock 100. If so I need to modify my running from miles to vert. I plan to do 15,000 to 20,000 vertical every week for Hardrock. So my Sunday run would be 20 miles with no less than 7000 feet vertical.
Santa Hustle Half Marathon in Galveston on Dec 21st.
I’m running with the Devil
Honolulu Marathon! I hate humidity, but I make an exception for any warmth during the wintertime in Chicago.

7.7km race on New Year’s Eve.
Intervals on the indoor trainer. Not even a smart trainer, just a plain set of rollers. Yay winter.
