Wouldn’t it be cool if you could pick any gadget that’s on my ‘2014 Winter Sports Gadget Recommendations’ list and call it your own? Yup, I agree. And, so does Clever Training. So they’re offering up to one lucky holiday duck just that.
Be it a new GPS watch, or a super-high end trainer – it can indeed be yours. It’s like the Price is Right Showcase of sports technology products. Minus having to guess the price or pay for it.
The rules are simple here, simply drop a comment below with the following:
To Enter: The details of one workout or race that you’ve got scheduled between now and the end of the year.
Simple enough? Good.
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, December 8th, 2014 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. I’ll be giving you one device of your choosing from the list from Clever Training. Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday, assuming the interwebs work in London for me on Tuesday. One entry per person. The product will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately assuming in stock.
This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with. As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site. And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF or now via the VIP program. Plus, there’s still tons of Black Friday-type deals going on. And most of all, by using Clever Training you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!
Have a great weekend all!

Recovering from a solo marathon I ran while my wife was out of town (when else would I do something crazy like that?), so most of my training will be running a fast-ish 2miles with one of our dogs, dropping her off, and running a much slower mile with the other, much smaller, pooch.

My next race is a spring half marathon in Ogden, UT… just enough to keep me motivated in the winter. :)
Man what a great competition, here’s hoping. My workout is a sad 5km whilst in recovery mode, in addition to a series of strength exercise for the glutus medius which, so my physio tells, is woefully underdeveloped and so caused a minor injury! Ack. Every leg crunch brings me closer to next year’s (second ever!) marathon though. Cheers Ray!
I’ve convinced my project team to run 4-5 miles with me every morning while we travel for work. It’s really dark and cold at 5:30am in CT, but we motivate each other to run. Tuesday 12/9 is our next run.
Tomorrow, a beautiful 14.1km long slow distance run in Bremen/Germany upstream along the Weser river and back along the Werdersee lake, with a fun spiral ramp at 2/3rds. No races planned this season while my ankle is still not fully recovered (turned chronic 1.5 years ago, now taking it _very_ strictly (again) since my last marathon 2 months ago…)
After a long year of racing that ended with Florida Ironman on November 1st, I have been racing to eat everything in sight. This, along with my passion to test every beer known to man, has me working just as hard as my Ironman training. As taxing as it is, I’ll try to continue this race the rest of the year.

Well, I think Bilenky Junkyard Cross is the best way to spend your weekend. Once a year, Big Guy’s Used Auto Parts of Philadelphia opens its doors to the determined, witless, insane, and just plain weird enthusiasts of Cyclocross. Respect the junk, wear clothes that can be torn and bled on, and make sure your tetanus shot is up to date! Also, bring some good beer and leave the PBR at home you damn hipsters!
Plan on huddling in the basement for my first winter trainer ride of the season!
