On Monday, Dec 8th I have Threshold Intervals scheduled: 2 mile warm up, 8 x 800 meters at 8:00 to 8:05 pace w/45 sec rest, 2 mile cool down. All part of my base training for next season’s running. Hopefully I will be able to do it outside and not indoors on the Dreadmill!

12 mile long run this coming Sunday, 2 things that are working against me. Sat night a going away party for some very good friends and having some foot issues. It’ll be ugly, but I am going to run it :)

Tomorrow (Saturday December 6th) a workout worth doing… a long group run visiting local doughnut shops in the Minneapolis, MN area.
As we know, long run nutrition is important so I must eat at each stop.
It will also give me a good chance to try LiveTracking with my new 920xt :)

Well, I have workouts scheduled almost everyday, but my next race is on December 14. It is the Jingle Bell Run 5k in Shelby Township, Michigan. Hoping there is no snow!!!

I’ll be doing a 5k Time Trial before the year ends, so I can start my new program based on my pace.

A few workouts planned:
1. Running streak between Thanksgiving and New Years (minimum 1 mile per day).
2. Friday Hills at November Project Boston every Friday morning through New Years.
Unfortunately no races before the end of the year. Workouts will focus on building strength with enough cardio to burn off all of that holiday beer I plan to consume!
Rather than focus on the doldrums of the trainer, I’m basking in super specific workouts and easy scheduling.
My weekly favorite this season is:
10 minute warm up
3x 5min @ TH (Cadence 70-80 RPM) 5 min RBI
5x 1min @ VM (Cadence 70-80 RPM) 2 min RBI
10 minute cool down.
• Run, 45 minutes. Push 4 to 5 hills to 90% effort.
• Cool down, 5 to 10 minutes.
• Stretch.
• Weep…
Misplaced my HRM so running this afternoons 1 hour at zone 2 is going to be tough.
My son and I are doing the Surfin’ Santa 5 Miler in two weeks. It will be his first 5 mile race!

Annual Christmas Eve run, swim, & bike workouts. A triathlete friend of mine hosts a family fun run around the city of Frederick MD. I usually run ~8 miles. Then I hit the pool later for 1200 – 1600 meters of swimming. And finally, top it off with an afternoon bike ride of 20+ miles (could be a trainer session if weather is nasty). Always look forward to it!

I’m working on my long distance running during the winter months in Texas. It is a chilly 75 degrees today.
To Enter: Well, it may not seem like much, but my scheduled workout that means the world to me is the final run of my C25K. I live in a tropical climate (Indonesia), but will be visiting family in sub zero weather (Poland) and my last week of runs will be done outside (short of a blizzard or something). I’m a runner for life already (Jakarta Marathon is mine next year!) and am thankful for the opportunities and toys our generation has to make it fun. Happy holidays everyone!
