I had a killer tempo bike workout for 1:40 and then did a 1500 time trial in the pool… My legs are toast!
No races between now and 12/31 so I’m enjoying the flexibility of off-season training. Mostly 6-7 miles at 7:30 pace for runs. Some trainer rides. Not much swimming.

MS: 60 minutes 80-83% FTP, with 20 bursts at 10 seconds 120%. Recover 10 minutes. 20 minutes at 80-83% FTP with big gear intervals 53:13 at 50 rpm, and every 2 minutes (10 times total) slow down, stick it in the 53:13, stay seated, and use strength to push it to 90rpm. Once you reach 90 rpm, return to your tempo pace.
CD: 10 minutes easy spinning.

Just ran The Phila Marathon, so my goal is to get in 1 quality workout on the track before the end of the year. It will probably be on 12/31, but who cares, right? I’ll aim for 8×800 or 4×1 mile, both at 5K pace.
