The Love You Wanted: $600 Gadget Giveaway

IMG_2922

What’s that?  Your Valentine’s Day was a bust?  No worries, I’m here to try and cheer ya up.  It’s your opportunity to win something you’ll really love (which, may be in addition to someone else you love).

The winner will get a $600 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime.  By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on basically anything they sell.  If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the new Garmin Fenix3 HR to a GoPro Hero4 Black to a water bottle to the PowerTap G3 Hub Power Meter (all of which are under $600!), or heck, even towards a new trainer.  Whatever warms your heart.

How to enter:

Simply let me know what was on your training log for last weekend from a workout perspective.  Quick and easy!

Try to make it more than a few words (i.e. not just ‘10K’), so you’ll avoid the SPAM holding tank (I manually clear it out). And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of old SPAM.  Got all that?

Good luck!

The giveaway entry period will run through Saturday, February 20th, 2016 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time.  Winner will be selected randomly.  One entry per person.  The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

  39. Marc-Andre Savage

Minus 25 deg C outside so I spent some time on Zwift.

  40. Coedy

Last weekend, the weather was bad again so my workouts involved a couple of spin classes, swimming a few sets and spending a horribly long time on the treadmill going absolutely no where. I hate running on the treadmill.

I’m sharpening up for a cross country ski marathon this weekend, so I’ve been doing a lot of short intervals and taking a lot of extra rest!

  54. Perry Taylor

My legs are sore from big gear starts on trainerroad last night.

  59. MattB

Being on call/at work for the weekend meant my long run got shunted to last Thursday, 12 miles in the hills of the Peak District, pretty sluggish as it fell the day after my other hard run that week… However, 3 days of ‘rest’ meant that the 20 min recovery run/strength training scheduled for Sunday but bumped to Monday turned in to a fast 5k and a new post-op PR at 21.05! Roll on Manchester Marathon!

  60. Eric Giroux

With -43 deg C on the thermometer, we stuck with the valentine day workouts…

  86. Stephen R

Easy weekend…just a 45 min run at endurance pace.
Keep up the great work Ray!!!

  87. Mark

It was too cold to do anything! The high Sunday was 7, with 30 mph winds. There was a wind chill warning for most the weekend :(
I did do 11 minutes on the trainer for the first time in a year though.

  88. Had some ambitions but ended up doing nothing, even though being on conference in a different city which usually adds to the will of expanding my training heat map…

  89. Zuzana

Long run on Saturday followed by easy one on Sunday

  90. General strength exercises and recovery swim.

  91. Chris McElwee

Easy step down weekend. Just easy 4 mile run.

  92. Justin

I just got my Tacx Vortex, and with all the snow we’ve had in the DC area I’ve given it and Zwift quite the trial. In all, I got in 3 trainer sessions, a run, and a swim. I’m pretty proud of that considering it was my first week back to work after returning from paternity leave.

  93. Richard

Absolutely nothing. I thought I’d treat my wife and kids to my company for the weekend.

  94. Koen

This weekend’s “workout” consisted of carrying my oldest son on my shoulders when we visited some musea. Went for a treadmill run when they were asleep!

  95. Magnus

A nice 16km run in beautiful, rainy west coast weather.

  96. Michael Harman

Unfortunately had a goose egg last weekend due to weather in the area. Starting today though the weather here is improving so hopefully lunch rides and even a few rides from the house (each of which starts with a 130 ft climb in < .5 miles as that's the only way to get to the main road)

  97. Scott

I downloaded a 10K (sorry) training plan from Garmin to my Fenix and started to supplement those dreadmill runs with indoor rowing. Also been playing around a bit in the weight room, though I’m more wandering around lifting things up and putting them away than actually lifting with purpose.

  98. Hendrik

    Hi Ray,
Thank you once more for these great contests.
This weekend I came back with the wife and kids from a ski/snowboard Holiday in Austria.
As I never want to come back, we still skied and snowboarded on Saturday.
Sunday I had an afternoon indoor climbing session.
Oh yes, If I win I will go for your first recommendation, the Fenix 3 HR, which is very high up my wishlist :-)

  99. Jeff Loiselle

    Hi Ray,

Training log for this week is the “usual” 6 sessions (2 masters swims, 2 runs, 1 spin class and a brick [spin class + 3.5k on the threadmill). I live in Montreal so we don’t get to ride our regular bikes outside that often in winter…

    Cheers!

  100. Steve K

Just a couple of sessions on zwift, light weekend
