Today is Friday – you made it to the end of the week. But more importantly, today is also Australia Day. I only know that because I’m in Australia, and the beaches are more crowded than the starting line of a marathon (still, I pretended to workout and went for a short swim). Thus, it seems reason enough to give away some gadget goodness. But fear not, I won’t be restricting this to those in Australia, or any other country. Anyone, anywhere on earth, is welcome to join as always.
Somehow it’s been far too long since we’ve last done a giveaway. I seriously don’t know how, because I talk about it almost every month with the Clever Training crew, and then somehow it slips off my radar. Perhaps we just need more holidays to have faux reasons for me to give stuff away.
The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime. By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on almost anything they sell (or get points instead). If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero6 Black, to a Suunto Spartan Ultra, to a random pair of socks, to the Garmin Vector 3 power meter, or heck, even towards a new trainer. Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats). Also note, your credit is in US dollars, not Australian – otherwise you’d get less. Nobody wants less.
How to enter:
Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win).
The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (I.e. F5), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters. And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM. Got all that?
Good luck!
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, January 29th, 2018 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. Winner will be selected randomly. One entry per person. The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

Great Event =)
I’d like to get a Garmin Vector 3 power meter, because i would like to train more precise!
I am in desperate need of a power meter. P1 or Vector 3, not sure yet. :) I want to put my triathlon bike leg to the next level. Power seems to be the best way to control my training for the next months.
Its going to be Wahoo Bolt!
Contribute to some Vector 3s, because of my constant thirst for spending more money on cycling.
I think I would upgrade my old watch to a Fenix 5 to get wrist based HR for 24 hour tracking.
Voy por el Suunto Spartan Baro Amber, practico trail Running y considero que es el indicado. Saludos
Probably a Garmin FR645, for the NFC and optical HR before the music.
It’s too bad the 920XT didn’t get an update to carry over the square face, I really like the button layout it.
Would have choose beetwen Suunto Spartan Ultra or Garmin Fenix 5. Because i am searching a watch to replace my long trusted Suunto T6c, which has die out on me. I would use it for hill hiking, swimming, running and cycling. Into some trriatlons too :)
Thank you!
I could use a new trainer
If I win I’d go for Vector 3 pedals…power on everything with a pedal…oh yeah!
Would love to upgrade to a Garmin 520, because while I love mub510, I think it’s on its last legs.
I would get the Garmin Forerunner 935, because I’m still using my old 310XT from when I did triathlons. I’ve recently started together with my wife and she has bought the FR35, so I was looking for a new watch also!
Ahoy! I would get the Garmin Fenix 5x or 935! I have been using the garmin 630 for 2 years(loved it) but I’m eager to test out a wrist based heart rate option! I run ultra-marathons and dabble in triathlon. new gear=best motivation!
I would get a power meter, probably Garmin Vectors, since I’m hoping to do my first century ride this year and want to see if training with power really is such a game changer.
I would probably get the Wahoo Fitness NEW KICKR Indoor Power Trainer!
A lot of small upgrades to my bike from aerobars and new tape to a better shifter.
I’d get a Stages dual sided power meter, because I don’t trust my fluid2 trainer with virtual power.
Would definitely be some kind of Garmin product.
Probably a 935, since I’d like to upgrade from my 225.
Those new Spartan colors are really nice, maybe I’ll get one!
Fenix 5 would be my device of choice.
I would get a Garmin Forerunner 645 Music to replace my Forerunner 220 so I can listen to music (though with a bit of sadness, since the 220 has done me well for thousands of miles of running!).
The 645 non-music variant. I like that it pulls in some of the features of the Vivoactive in a run-focused watch, but I could care less about the music portion. And my 235 is starting to look pretty beat.
Easy, I would love to get an Fenix 5 :-)
/Micke
I would get a garmin forerunner 935, because I bought one for my girlfriend for x-mas, and now I am jealous since her watch is much nicer than mine.
Have a Nice weekend :)
I’d get a fenix 5x. I’ve been hankering after one for a while now.
I’d go for the Garmin Fenix 5x, because go big or go home.
I would absolutely get myself a set of Vectors. This is the year I decided i’m going to do more focused training rides and power becomes a near necessity at that point. I want big gains and training with power is the best way to do it.
After I have bought almost all imaginable gadgetry based on your advice, it would be nice to invest in a new pair of wheels; maybe with a power meter inside like the Powertap ones :)
Garmin fenix 5 for my wife
I had no idea that Clever Training sells socks! Do they come with a power meter? If so, then definitely socks is what I’d get. :)
Guess I would finally get myself a GoPro 6 Black and a nice gimball. The combined price tag is holding me back up to now…
GoPro Hero6 Black
I’d get a quiet trainer, current one wakes up the family.
I would love to get a Garmin Forerunner Watch 645 to help in motivating me in my recovery from knee surgery this January, which has had me sitting inside resting and doing boring physical therapy.
Power meter because I don’t have one. Thanks Ray!
Need a watch primarily for running, but that I can use happily for other sports like orienteering, x-country skiing.. that’s how I found myself here, browsing your reviews. Thanks for the amazingly helpful site!
the tri-watch badly needs an update ;)
Get some new oakleys to replace my 5 year old pair that is beginning to show scratches. Not tech, I know
I love my 920xt, but the altimeter on it went kaput. So while I can’t justify spending $500 of my own money on a 935 to save the effort of hitting the “correct elevation” button after each workout, I think I could definitely justify spending somebody else’s money for that mild inconvenience.
garmin vector 3. because i want it !!!!
Nice one Ray!
Tough call – too much goodness. I’m going with either the Elite Dorito :-) or towards a Tacx Neo. Someone has set some PB’s in the new Virtugo! Or that new Whoop Strap thingie the pros are drumming on about.
Thanks DCR! I would get the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt since I have pretty much got as much useful life out of my Garmin FR305 as I am going to get.
Thinking about upgrading ny edge 720. Maybe a 520??
GoPro session so I can record my rides
I would love a Garmin 935 to finally replace my old 910XT…!
i’d upgrade to a Garmin 1030
Elite Direto so I can finally feel the Zwift force!
Really need a new head unit. Old one is on it’s last legs.
Upgrade to a power meter. Not sure what yet – would require more research and what better place to find out that info…
Something Suunto ish for a change.. Maybe the Suunto Spartan Trainer Wrist HR Outdoor. But I am concerned if someone asks what the what is I might need to take a few breaths to answer.
The new Garmin Forerunner 645!!! Wahoo!
For very wet South Wales weather (UK, not the on I Australia) I would upgrade to smart trainer and spend more hours with Zwift.
I’d use the money toward a smart trainer like the Wahoo Kickr Snap.
Good question, I would possibly get the Garmin Vector 3 power meters or a Wahoo Kickr
Thanks DCR! Need some Powermeter pedals for stationary bike so that I don’t have to keep swapping my bike on and off the trainer!
Bluetooth HR monitor & Stryd power meter to try out Zwift Running on satan’s sidewalk in this frigid cold winter.
For 500 $ support I would choose crank powermeter.
Hero 5 session to record my cycling adventures
Thanks Ray. I think it’s time for some Vector 3 pedals.
I’d use the $500 to finally get a power meter. I’ve had my eye on a Quarq DFour for a while now.
I would love to get a power meter, most likely stages or Garmin Vector 3. I’ve been cycling years and still rely on HRM. I need bringing into the 21st century, so I can chat data wit club mates.
I’d get Vector power meters. Believe the real-time feedback would help me better pace myself.
That GoPro Fusion looks pretty cool. It would be fun to see some rides in 360.
I’m thinking probably put it towards a power meter. I’m not sure which one yet, I’m leaning towards the pedal-based ones… Or maybe use part of it for a Cycliq Fly6 CE… so many options.
Not sure – hard decision to chose between a pedal power meter, an action cam and a fenix 5x…
I’m torn between Garmin Forerunner 935, new 645 with music and Garmin Edge 1030. If I win, I will solve it really fast! :-) Thanks for giveaway, Ray!
I’d probably get the ForeRunner 645 because my FR 25 is not working so great anymore. Thanks!
GoProHero 6 Black. Thanks
I’m hoping for a Vector 3. I have a vector 2 right now and the pods get caught on my chain if i sprint in top gear due to my lovely s-works cranks (extra fat) and short chain stay. i check garmin’s website daily and its always 3-5 weeks (since october) for availability.
Garmin Edge 520, not too “high end” but meets all my needs. Thanks DCR for the opportunity.
Garmin Forerunner with optical HR sensor. Or Garmin Edge.
Time to upgrade my photo gear, so probably Hero6…
I want a FR645 and Runnning pad for Boston Marathon in April.
Hmmm, maybe a new trainer? Or maybe a power meter? I dunno, I’d find something to spend $500 on though!
I would like to upgrade to the FR 935 with some nice quickfit bands.
I think I’d go for the Polar M430 – loved the m400, and that new orange looks pretty awesome :) Please and thank you!
Fenix 5 – Swim, Run & Bike
This is what I like to do!
Garmin Edge 820 would be my choice
First thank you for the wonderful and thorough reviews of products. Second I would like the new Garmin 645 Forerunner because I want to get myself back into shape and running again and a new toy would help motivate me
I would get a Vector 3 because I wanna have the POWER!
I’d get a new sports watch for surfing, running and cycling.
I’d finally get that power meter I’ve been eyeing….Garmin Vector 3, yes please!
Gotta go with the Forerunner 645. Looks to be a great upgrade from my current 220 with almost all the features of the 935 but more handsome!
I haven’t a clue what I would get. I already have all the latest “toys” from Garmin. I probably would hold on to the credit later in the year. I’m certain that something will come along between now and July that I would want.
-marc
I’d either get a GoPro or a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt! Or the Vector 3, so many choices!!!
With that price there are many wishes. Fenix 5; update on my Polar: like v800 or the newest M6.. or do they have a stryd footpod?
Maybe a camera or a Garmin for cycling, or maybe both?
My watch is so old. I really need something newer :)
Although I have a Garmin 630 right now, I’d be tempted to look at the newer Forerunners or maybe check out a Fenix3/5.
Thanks for the Friday generosity! Would love to put the $500 towards a set of power meter pedals like the Garmin Vector 3s to really inspire some FTP growth!
I’d buy my wife a Fenix 5S
I would most certainly go for the power meter. It is the last step in building the bike of my dreams.
GoPro 6. Would replace my old GoPro 3+, use it on the front of my surfski
There is no doubt in my mind–I will buy a Wahoo KICKR CLIMB.
I’d get a Spartan wrist Trainer or Garmin vivoactive 3. My current wrist wear is aging and these two wrap everything I need into one attractive watch. Just can’t decide between them.
The FR 645 sounds really tempting!
Yeah – I’m gonna need that gift card… I’m spending all my monies on diapers and formula at the moment.
MMmkaythanks!
A powermeter would be the best gift ever !!!!
I’d get a new Garmin 645 with music – I keep killing ipod shuffles due to sweat!
