It’s definitely time for another giveaway. Given Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, it only seems right to show you some lovin’. But, it would seem sorta awkward to give you a present and not also give the person you love (or, at least kinda-sorta-like) a present as well. No?
Thus, I’ll be giving away two units as part of this giveaway – one for each of you. It’ll be like a couples giveaway, though you need not be a couple to enter or win. I’m sure everyone can find a loving friend that is worthy of a new GPS device (or similar). If you can’t think of such a person in your life, I’d suggest expanding your circle of friends.
Those who win will get two units valued up to $270US (each) from Clever Training. This could be currently shipping units like the Polar M400, or, upcoming units like the Garmin Vivoactive once it ships. As long as the value is under $270US per device you can pick whatever you want from Clever Training.
Here’s a few ideas to get ya thinking:
The Fitbit Surge GPS watch
TomTom Runner Cardio GPS watch (with optical HR sensor)
Garmin Vivoactive GPS smartwatch
Polar M400 GPS watch
Mio Fuse Activity Tracker with optical HR sensor
Suunto Ambit2 S GPS multisport watch
How to enter:
Leave a comment with: A description of your Valentine’s Day training or racing plans.
Simple as that! As usual, Clever Training is sponsoring the giveaway. Remember you can save 10% off anything they sell through either the coupon code or the DCR/CT VIP program, plus of course free US shipping for goods over $75US.
Thanks for reading!
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, February 16th, 2015 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. Winner will be selected randomly. One entry per person. The product will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming in stock.

project go live, so maybe some trainer on the bike, that’s about it!
Planning a good bike ride (maybe around 60 miles/6000 ft climbing) with my honey. It’s supposed to be 80F here this weekend… not enough rain, but for the cyclists it’s great to be able to ride outside!
cross country race, obviously! yay!
Will do a 16km trail run around Tyresta Nationalpark in Sweden with my wife. And maybe a Prformance™ Hi-Intensity class at the gym.
Swim and bike workouts
10 km run with my Garmin Forerunner 620
60 min on the treadmill while the lady sleeps (because she doesn’t do treadmills and it’s tooooo cold here in Ottawa, Canada to run outside)
You could call it training, but it is defenitively a work-out ;-)
2 hours on bike in a.m. and celebrate Valentine’s day in p.m.
Well, seeing as how the Boston area is getting another 12-18 inches of snow to go on top of the nearly 6 feet we’ve had in the past 3 weeks (no joke) I’ll be on the trainer. 4×10 min intervals at 105% of FTP. Wife will be going to a spinning class before the snow starts.
Walking while watching multiple kids sporting events
If I don’t get in my trainerroad workout than the girlfriend and I will try to play some tennis.
A nice 4×4 on the trainer, and a Simple & Sinister Kettlebells session in the morning.
Swim then spin session… both with my beautiful wife
I am planning on doing a 15 mile run and then bike 30 miles. Then, planning on taking my wife to dinner.
Pretty lonely valentine’s training: I’ll do a LT-test on Saturday…
But we’ll make up for it in the evening!
This married couple with two kids is currently training for their first tri. Tomorrow I’ll being a brick consisting of 1.5 hrs on the bike (on the trainer due to weather :-(…..) followed by a 30 min run. She has a 30-40 min speed run planned.
My wife uses her Edge 510 to follow routes when she trains. She enjoys exploring new areas to keep it interesting. I have planned out a route as a surprise, and tonight when she is asleep I will upload it onto her Garmin.
The route I planned will take us to a few places that have really special meaning to us. The spot on the beachfront where I first asked her out, the hotel building where we used to sneak onto the roof at night to swim and finally the overhanging rock on the edge of a gorge where I proposed two years ago. It should be a very enjoyable day all-in-all.
I’ll be going for a 10 mile run with my Saturday running group, even if the temperature is below 0F, which the forecast is currently predicting.
Sounds like my workout will be shoveling again…
MTB Marathon training with my girl

Long slow 2-3hr run
I’ll be getting up at 630 for my usual Saturday 40 miles for breakfast with mates, remembering to leave a card and chocolates for when my wife wakes up.
90 minutes on Kickr and Trainer Road. Combo almost makes riding a trainer in the basement fun.
An easy 3 miler with my girlfriend, to stretch the legs before a snow shoe race on Sunday
Just got a new bike for my wife, so a ride with her and then a run in the evening.
Living near Boston and looking at another Blizzard over the Valentines weekend our activities will include snow shoveling, ice scrapping and making a treacherous trip into Boston to catch a show on Saturday night (if it doesn’t get cancelled). Once in Boston, we will be climbing 6+ foot snow banks, conquer unshoveled streets and sidewalks and have a lovely ride home in yet another Blizzard. Things you do for your loved one.
Try to sneak in a 15 mile run between blizzards!
Hopefully getting rid of the flu and take a small walk in the sun.
Swim in the morning, run or trainer/bike in the afternoon…depending on weather, its been cold lately.
Aerobics followed by some light weight training
A steady run paced appropriately around the kitchen island with my wife leading the charge, then a mad dash to the freezer with the tub of ice cream. I think we need a Mio fuse, what do you think?
I’ll ask my wife out for a run so she would be very tired. Then we’ll go to the fine restaurant and have a very romantic evening. It’s not a first time we do this and the contrast of being running in the cold and dirt and then sitting in clean gorgeous surrounding is strikingly exciting! =)
training session for my very first duathlon :-D
5k RUN -> 20k BIKE -> 2.5k RUN
looking fwd to running in cycling shorts :-P
We will be travelling tomorrow (with kids) but should arrive in time to do a mile swim (I’m hoping in outdoor pool!) before dinner.
It is going to be sub zero wind chills for the weekend here so a 10 mile run on the treadmill is the plan I get.
Long run on the treadmill because it’s -10F outside.
Going to do a “coast to coast” run on Key West to stretch my legs after flying from Mexico.
One legged rowing as my foot is in a boot
This year traditional ski competitions in our City fall on Valentine’s Day. So this day I’ll be trying to improve my rank.

Thanks, as always, for the awesome giveaway!

It’s a double session. An easy swim followed by a 10 mile hilly run
5 mile training run then stay outside and spruce up the yard and enjoy the decent weather while it lasts.
We’re expecting 2 feet of snow in Maine. I’ll probably jump on the trainer for a spin.
Escaping snowy and frigid Boston for warm Tucson and some Valentine hikes with my wife during her school vacation week!
lots and lots of skate skiing
A 5 km recovery run after a longer one the day before =)
I will be heading out on my first Trail Run in over a month since I injured my foot. Going for a run on Table Mountain first thing in the morning!

10K run while my youngest plays tennis
The wife and I are heading to London for a nice weekend which just happens to include the triathlon show and a ride with my old cycling club on Sunday. ;)
Well, grandma and grandpa took the kid fir the weekend so that means all the time to do whatever I want.
My guess means that equals a 15 mile run, 2 hour TrainerRoad ride, and 2 pool workouts. 1 speed workout and 1 time workout
It will be a 15Km cross country skiing loop for me at around -20C.
Wake up and do some strength training. Head to the bank to let them know my wife has now taken my last name. Head to the indoor track and put in an hour of Z2 work.
Planning to do an hour of Boxing, hopefully followed by an hour in the weight room
I’ll be going out…. but only on my wife’s shoulders because I did my back in at work two days before my week off having planned running and bike for a week…
13 Mile run with my Marathon Training group
90 minute trainer ride
I have a 5 miler planned, but with the anticipated 10 deg F and 40 mph wind, it’ll probably be on the treadmill or the indoor track at the Y.
As it is still cold here in Berlin I will ride for about three to four hours through the woods with my Giant TCX and my former flatmate. It’s some kind of bromance. :D
Doing a three mile run.
It will be a rest day before 1h30 of swimming followed by 2h30 of cycling on Sunday morning!
A gentle trail run after I’ve made my wife breakfast in bed!
Doing Actif Epica a 130 km ultra ending in Winnipeg MB.

I’ll be squeezing my pregnant belly into some bike shorts and spinning on the trainer next to my Love.
For valentine’s day it’ll be a short 3.5 interval training run followed up by an hour of crossfit…
I’m going on my first every park run. Using my FR60 and a footpod to help motivate me. Hopefully the bug will bite and I’ll get into it and lose some weight!!!
today: swim, bike, run . . .I love it :-)
13 miles with the lady!
Tomorrow is a rest day from running, although I’ll probably take a leisurely bike ride if the weather’s ok.
Mostly resting, stretching before Sundays mind numbing indoor long run.
An easy 30min turbo ride to continue rehab from a bad knee injury.
Let wife sleep and go volunteer at a Cupids crush, 15 degrees!!
Filet mignon, lobster tails, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and portabello! Valentines Day is a great excuse to splurge on great food! And I’ll be doing intervals.
I was supposed to be tapering for the Austin Marathon on the 15th, but injury sidelined that plan 3 weeks out. So it looks like I’ll just be cycling as much as I can and wishing I were crossing the finish line down in Austin. Always future races to look forward to I suppose.
I’ll do sport in bed that day ;-)
We are going to have a nice dinner and go to the cinema. Guess what the movie is!
A 6 mile lakefront run along Lake Michigan.
Getting ready to start training for Grandmas, so I”l be running longish – probably 10…
