Thanks. Who really wants such (an expensive) Garmin varia vue? The better solution would have been to release a new single front light. If someone wants to take a video of his ride, he uses a gopro or something like that, which you can use for other things, too. And not only on a bike…
I was just about to pull the trigger on the Varia 515 as I have a voicher for a bike store – but was out of stock when I tried…but not ‘due back soon’ more like ‘end of line’. Any updates on the new Garmin Varia 2025?? I really like the Wahoo Trackr (even though I’m fully in the Garmin ecosystem) but now want to see what their new option might be.
Yeah I could get it from elsewhere etc – but my voucher is £100 so it’s a huge chunk to use in that store…
On the Vue, I think you guys completely missed the point on the Locked vs Unlocked (saved vs un-saved) point. It’s not about the subscription to the Vault and what gets uploaded. It’s about what can and can’t get overwritten. Not everyone is going to update to a bigger memory card and have endless hours of footage. It is unfortunate they used un-saved for the folder naming as it is saved to the memory card. It just isn’t protected from being over-written as the card fills up. The locked / unlocked terminology makes sense.
Otherwise, spot on. It’s definitely not an action camera as you guys point out. Hopefully by the time you get home you’ll know if any of the footage is critical or not. No point in uploading all your footage from a 5 hour ride if nothing “eventful” happened.
