Have some fun in the travel section.
I travel a fair bit, both for work and for fun. Here’s a bunch of random trip reports and daily trip-logs that I’ve put together and posted. I’ve sorted it all by world geography, in an attempt to make it easy to figure out where I’ve been.
My Photography Gear: The Cameras/Drones/Action Cams I Use Daily
The most common question I receive outside of the “what’s the best GPS watch for me” variant, are photography-esq based. So in efforts to combat the amount of emails I need to sort through on a daily basis, I’ve complied this “My Photography Gear” post for your curious minds (including drones & action cams!)! It’s a nice break from the day-to-day sports-tech talk, and I hope you get something out of it!
The Swim/Bike/Run Gear I Use List
Many readers stumble into my website in search of information on the latest and greatest sports tech products. So here is the most up to date list of products I like and fit the bill for me and my training needs best! DC Rainmaker 2024 swim, bike, run, and general gear list. would love a power meter.
Fenix 6 Pro, to replace my 920 that is broken!
I’d love a power meter. I miss not having power on real rides compared to on Zwift
I need a new garmin and a helmet
Just looking for an entry level power meter. Pedals would be perfect. Any brand!
Santa miss-read my letter…so I need a Garmin eTrex30x for my attempt on the Colorado Trail in July.
Thanks for the great work with this blog Ray! It’s a real go-to for so many of us.
A scratch and dent smart bike!
Power meter will be the first thing i get
Garmin venu could be nice :)
Power meter. Getting hooked on power numbers from Indoor trainer, need them outdoors as well.
It is time for an action cam. That would be awesome.
Forerunner 945
Most likely power meter (assioma) or new cycling computer (garmin 530)
Coros Apex!! Need a watch that will last for ultras!
Ill buy a assioma pedals.
Garmin Venu…or maybe the Fisher Price bike trainer for the kiddos!

I would get my wife whatever new piece of equipment she would like
I’ll be building up a new gravel bike soon, so perhaps a redshift stem. Or a power meter.
That new go pro would sure help me remember scuba sites!
I’d get a fancy pants bone conduction headphones helmet and a Varia “hey don’t smoosh me” radar light.
I’d go for a pedal bases power meter. Because it’s important to always understand just how bad you are at a sport you love doing.
A new Garmin GPS watch (FR245 maybe) to replace my old FR220
Mmmm…a stryd or Garmin run pod for zwift running!
I think I would use this to get a Garmin forerunner series. I used to have Garmin but had to step away and sell mine due to injury. Things are looking good again for me so I think it is time to get back into the groove.
A new running watch that will allow me to listen to music without having to carry my phone + ear buds (and my stress fracture to heal so I can get back out there)!
I would like a brand new Garmin Edge 1030. It is time to try something new…after getting the most out of a 1994 bike computer :S
Varia radar to see whats behind me
Want / need a current running watch . Garmin 945? I need it to have customizable fields to display Glucose data! I hope I win :-)
Would love the Harmon edge 830
I’d like a Hammer H3. Looks to be the trainer that has the least issues!
Hi, I would love to upgrade to a Fenix 6s!
Some sort of smart trainer, probably a wheel on one.
wahoo trainer
Time to get those action cameras to show of the awesomeness of 2020!
Drone please :)
Some kind of GPS watch…
I would put it towards a new trainer
I would get the Kickr Climb to go with the Wahoo Kickr I bought from Clevertraining last month! JT
Wouldn’t say no to an Apple Watch.
I could use a new training watch. My 910xt doesn’t turn on or off, and the on/off button is now a “hole” in the waterproofing layer.
If i win i probably use the credit for a bike trainer to keep riding my bike during the winter.
Some new Assioma pedals would be nifty
i could use a bike trainer upgrade
Has to be a wahoo kickr. I need to know if I’m only putting out an FTP of 114 as that seems like weak sauce.

Garmin Vivoactive 4, currently running with my phone in my pocket to record runs ?
Varia and new Garmin.
I would either buy the Garmin Fenix 6 or Forerunner 945 to train for my first marathon in 2020.
I’d replace my Fenix 3 HR with a newer Fenix watch.
Air Pods Pro!
Happy New Year DCR Family
I’d love to pick up a radar unit for my bike!
Split between a drone and a 360 camera, both seem capable of doing some awesome cycling shots!
Fenix 6 for Training
Def an indoor smart trainer. Time to smarten up!
I would get my wife a Garmin watch for her fitness drive
Would like to give a gopro a whirl. Thanks DC.
DJI Mavic Mini!! Want a real drone!
Starting to look for a replacement for my trusty 910XT, winning this would speed things up considerably!
I’d go with a Fenix 6 so I could get even more wonderful training data.
I’d like a GoPro sessions to review race footage. To learn from in race mistakes
A Garmin 945 would be very welcome so I can monitor how bad I am at swimming, cycling and running once my leg’s out of plaster!
I would get Quark powermeter for mtb, or Stages crank based. To see how weak I’m.
GoPro hero 8 Black
Go Pro Hero 8 please
My old GoPro keeps crashing and is out of warranty, maybe an upgrade is in order!
Apple Watch would be good to check my heart rhythm when I get out of breath on Zwift!
Great giveaway again, same old things.. new bike computer or triathlete watch to get me on a mariokart like super boost start for my 2020 Goal (OD that is)
I’ll put it on a sports watch!
I would put the credit towards the Favero Assioma Duo. Call me mentally lazy (or maybe just lazy) but seeing a low power number keeps me from believing the lies I tell myself when I don’t like my speed numbers.
I would like to buy Assioma pedals
I would love a new power meter. I had one but I had such bad luck with it, I would love to experience a new one.

I might get an Elemnt Roam. I can’t justify the cost and my Bolt works just fine but I’d like some of the features
I would get a new Garmin Edge device
Garmin 945, need the upgrade for music from the watch
SRM X-Power pedals – maybe a bit too optimistic they’ll see the light of day soon.
I’d love to get some new cycling kit!
I would like to buy Assioma pedals also
I’d probably buy a Neo 2T to replace my aging Elite Direto.
I would get a Varia to give to a friend. Best Garmin product ever!
I would probably get an action cam… the last close pass i had from a motorist was really too close.
I’d like a a Fenix watch for hikes and trail runs!
Would get a power meter to take my training to the next level:)
Definitely looking at Garmin power meter.
