Stuck

I’ve been in a rut lately with getting behind on which product to write a review on.  Some of these I’ve been meaning to write a review on since last fall, and others are a bit newer.  So here’s your chance to decide what product gets written up in the next 10 days.  I promise to get a review out the door before the end of next weekend!  Oh, and I bought all the products myself – so trust me, you’re going to get very honest feedback on the gizmo (especially on the 405!).

Best of all - you get to vote!  Think of it like practice for the presidential elections, only much more interesting…or something like that.

Here’s the skinny – you can use the little voting buttons on the sidebar (you have to click the link and all if reading in a viewer), or you can use the usual comment feature if you have extra input.

Here’s the items up for review:

  1. CompuTrainer – Essentially a computerized trainer that can change resistance.  I reviewed one of the CompuTrainer DVD’s last winter, but never actually reviewed the thing itself.
  2. Garmin Forerunner 405 – The newest edition to the Garmin wrist band category, and is designed primarily with the runner in mind.  And those that like a more stylish solution.
  3. Spot Tracker Device – This little device uses GPS and low earth orbit satellites to automatically transmit your location to friends and family via a little website.  It also allows you to ‘call’ for emergency (911) help.
  4. Garmin Edge 705 – This is Garmin’s newest cycling computer.  Like a little car GPS with maps, routing and all.
  5. BlendTec Blender – Yes, the thing you see at Jamba Juice and Starbucks – and I got one a few weeks ago.  It can blend a smoothie in seconds, or a running shoe.  I’ve been making smoothies every day, as well as soups, peanut butter (from just peanuts) and even pancakes.

So here’s how to vote, just check out the side of this post and on the side there is a little voting button.  Just click your choice and that’s it!  Voting closes at 6AM on Monday.

In a nutshell it will be a simple tally that wins.  However extra weighting is given to folks who do things like overnight a batch of cookies to me.  Just sayin’…

And yes, this is a cop-out for a ‘real’ post, but I can’t really think of anything to write at the moment.  Most of my time is spent at the track, and while I (and 30 other runners) had an entertaining altercation with the ‘Associate Executive Principal’ last night – that hilarious post will have to wait until AFTER I finish winning the battle (let there be no question… I will win).

Do the blender. I've been wondering if there's an 'easy' way to make walnut butter at home. And I really need a new blender.

I want to see the CompuTrainer!

And I should send those cookies to what address???

Ooops, I meant almond butter, but walnut butter might be good too, on top of some banana bread.

Even though I despise Starbucks and the culture it has created I do want to see it chop up shoes, a catchers mitt, and a 4x4.

Associate executive principle? Sounds a whole lot like "Assistant to the Regional Manager". Makes me think he raised a big fuss over nothing.

Looking forward to whatever review it is.

SPOT please, thinking about one for my solo 70 miler next year, you know just in case!

I voted for the blender because when I make smoothies (strawberry, orange, and honey is my favorite!), my blender always struggles with the ice cubes.

TEASE!!! I WANT THE HILARIOUS STORY!

The blender is the best thing to review because most of us who commented here said blender and I don't have a Garmin. So that's my vote.

Now excuse me, I have to go home and get some of those delicious cookies ready to overnight to you.

Can't wait to hear your brush with authority. I voted for the spot tracker, btw. At my age, I guess I read your product description and heard, "Help I've fallen and can't get up!"
