The Because It’s Friday $500 Sports Gadget Giveaway!

DCRGiveaway2018Products

Today is Friday – you made it to the end of the week – and almost to the end of spring. But more importantly, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day (Don’t trust me? Look it up.) Unfortunately, I don’t expect to eat any Strawberry Shortcake today. Or tomorrow. And sure, I could have titled this ‘Father’s Day Gadget Giveaway’, but some countries celebrate that on other weekends (lookn’ at you, Australia).

In any case, it seems reason enough to give away some gadget goodness.  But fear not, I won’t be restricting this to those in specific countries (Australia or otherwise).  Anyone, anywhere on earth, is welcome to join as always.  Also, I think we just need more cake holidays to have faux reasons for me to give stuff away. It’s been far too long.

The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime.  By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on almost anything they sell (or get points instead).  If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero 7 Black (which is actually $70 off through Sunday, the lowest we’ve seen it), to the just shipping new Stages Dash units, to a random pair of socks, the Garmin Forerunner 945, or heck, even towards a new power meter.  Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats…wait, update, they do!).  Also note, your credit is in US dollars, not Australian – otherwise you’d get less.  Nobody wants less.

How to enter:

Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win). Or, you can leave a description of which product your dad would want for Father’s Day.

The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (i.e. FR945), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters.  And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM.  Got all that?

Good luck!

The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, June 17th, 2019 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time.  Winner will be selected randomly.  One entry per person.  The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

  60. Carl T

Gopro Hero & Black for me as my Hero 3 is now pretty long in the tooth!

  61. Roberts

I’d splurge away at the FR945. Went with the Galaxy Watch after the 920XT to get the wrist HR, but the non-existant bump for the sensor just doesn’t like my wrist and signal gets lost constantly unless I tighten the strap so tight it stops the blood flow completely..

  62. RJ

I’d probably go for a powermeter for my roadbike as it still hasn’t got one while my MTB does – probably the other way around for most people 😉

  63. Tim

The Forerunner 945, because my 935 is more than two years old and i can´t calibrate the height anymore.

I go on holiday and it would be great if I had a GoPro Hero 7 Black with me! I saw fantastic videos on youtube and I’ve read the best thing about it. The video stabilisation should be the best! I’m looking forward to using it on my trip. Thank you!

I could definitely use an FR945 as a replacement for my aging Fenix 3.

Thanks a lot for your awesome blog!

  87. David R

It’d have to be a shiny new Edge 830 to replace my ageing 810

  88. Javier P.

Working myself into shape again, so whatever tricks me into thinking I’m going in the right direction would work! 🙂

  89. Rich M

I think I’d finally take the otherwise quite expensive leap into power. I’m a data geek who wants to get faster; winning $500 would be the (internal) justification I need to finally make the choice of power meter 🙂
Love the site – thank you!

  90. Paco Prieto

I would like to have Garmin Wheight Scale.,will see
    Paco

  91. Garry Curley

  95. Daniel Garcia

I’d like a Giro Aether MIPS Cycling Helmet to keep cool in the summer and some new running shoes.

A Garmin E130 & Varia Radar for my friend to start cycling with.

  98. Michael A Brown

Think Id go with a Garmin vector power meter

  99. Charles

New tri-suit, a power meter or Garmin FR945… Choices, choices…
