Sony X1000V & AS200V Action Cams

This is Sony’s first 4K capable action cam that was announced back in January, along with introducing concurrent multi-cam live control/preview from the phone.  I’ll also be reviewing the little sibling, the AS200V, as part of the same review.  Keep tabs on my Sony Action Cam YouTube playlist for videos as I upload them!

When you review this camera, please bear the experience of other owners of its predecessors in mind: link to community.sony.com

TL:DR it has been the experience of many cyclists (motor or pedal powered) that the battery housing design does not respond well to vibration, resulting in the camera losing power and consequently recording stopping or corrupting. Unfortunately the issue do not present immediately, most users report issues after a couple of weeks riding, and people have tried workarounds that include stuffing the battery compartment to prevent vibration.

I loved the image and sound quality, but ultimately had to return mine for this very reason.
