Have some fun in the travel section.
I travel a fair bit, both for work and for fun. Here’s a bunch of random trip reports and daily trip-logs that I’ve put together and posted. I’ve sorted it all by world geography, in an attempt to make it easy to figure out where I’ve been.
My Photography Gear: The Cameras/Drones/Action Cams I Use Daily

I went back to Zwift from Fulgaz. I looked at Rouvy’s yearly plan vs Zwift’s and they were comparable. I just use these platforms for doing workouts so if what I’m looking it distracting enough to numb the pain a little, then that’s OK. I didn’t find the real life videos that compelling in Fulgaz for my use type. I’d get to the top of a big climb and want to look out across the view to the side but all I got to see was the road ahead.
I am absolutely over the moon about this news. There is actually some good in the world after all. I relied on FulGaz for the real world riding experience. It helped me both physically and mentally conquer the Pyrenees in ways no other app can. As a flat lander, the climb simulation is just an amazing tool. I was devastated when I heard it would be closed. Despite what it claims, Rouvy does not provide the real world simulation that FulGaz does.
It is indeed we keep it viable with our subscriptions. I have a yearly membership and will of course continue. If they need to create a sustaining membership or a Patreon, I would do that also. It may be a very small minority of members that would be willing to do that but it may make the difference between viability and non viability.
I could not be more excited. Thank you FulGaz.
Ray,
As an aside I would be interested in your opinion on how Trump’s tariffs on various countries is going to impact smartwatch prices. I know he bluffs and not everything will come pass but if it does how will it impact the market?
So is Fullgaz getting virtual shifting?…
Sorry, but I will not renew my FulGaz subscription. There are way too many platforms (Zwift, bkool, virtual Training, FulGaz, ROUVY ….) and it cannot be expected that they will all survive. Sure 4k videos are nice to have, but ROUVY has fantastic videos and plenty of cool features. It also allows you to ride without any avatar or added information. I think it makes more sense for them to improve their platform rather than investing resources on maintaining a niche product. As soon as you stop introducing new features, the product will eventually die from itself. I have decided to cut short on my subscriptions and concentrate on what I really use day to day. I had kept Zwift, ROUVY and FulGaz, I will probably only ride on ROUVY in the future. ROUVY has just shown that they are very supportive and that they are not the one to blame for Ironman decision. For now, I’ll stick with them and save money.
I’m not on Facebook so can’t ask there (but would be curious to see the results of the discussion), but I am curious about any plans for a discounted combined rate if someone wanted to use both platforms. I would still be surprised if Fulgaz is around a year from now. It’s nice that they are keeping it and being up front about what their are doing, but I think it’s going to be tough to stay with 80% of the current level…
fwiw, AND, as a percentage of users I bet those like me are probably well less than 1% so I know I have no voice or leverage, but, due to the political climate in America I have scheduled Facebook and Instagram to delete and I will not use those platforms.
So places that continue to use them to push out information are missing people that might otherwise enjoy their communication.
My choice , I get it. Just saying business has not changed, money is spent at businesses that form a connection with the customer.
I cannot support platforms with leaders like FB and IG any longer.
As a user of Fulgaz for nearly 3 years it’s time to look for something else. “No major new features”, “carefully curated content instead of frequent new ride drops”. Or to put it anyother ways ‘we’ll left Fulgaz wither and die’. You have to wonder why they bothered buying it.
Erik and Klem have made it clear on the FulGaz Riders group that they will be adding new rides, and former contributors can continue in that role. Higher bar for content. More scenic rides from across the globe, same 4k glory. Top-ups probably monthly instead of weekly.
Fulgaz lost me when the blocked me on the Fulgaz riders Facebook page. No explanation at all, I was having some issues and searching for answers. It was like we don’t want negative feedback. Asked if that was the issue then I would cancel my subscription. Within the hour my balance was refunded. Would never go back to Fulgaz and Rouvy well it had issues in its early stages. I was also removed off the Rouvy platform. I am no trouble maker but they seem rather keen on no negative feedback at all. So I don’t expect either to court me back.
