Well, I did indeed finish Ironman Canada yesterday. It was a rough second half of the day. The first half went fairly well, but the run was pretty brutal in the 95*F heat. I PR’d in all three sports (and overall), but missed my overall goals with a total time of 10:38.
I’ll be putting together a full report sometime tomorrow morning…in the meantime, it’s time to fall asleep again.

I did Ironman Louisville this weekend – I think we traded weather this year. Sorry you got the short straw.
My, don’t you look happy in that second photo – happy to be done, that is.
Congratulations of finishing another IM, and on a PR. Never dismiss a new PR.
Congrats on the finish. I know you may not have hit your goal, but you posted some impressive times!
Congratulations!!! You made it!
Congrats on your PRs!!
Does seem like you guys traded weather with Louisville this weekend. Still, 10:38 is an awesome race time. I wish I could do that on a cool day.
Enjoy your recovery!
You PR’d in 95* heat?? You’re a beast Rainmaker!
WOOW! Congraturation … you are fantastic!!!!!!
Haha I was actually getting concerned because you’re always so quick to post an “I’m alive!” post after a race. Congrats – can’t wait to hear how it went.
Very, very impressive to negative split the run. Nice job!
Congratulations Ray! Lots like your new shirt was a lucky shirt!
you finished in the daylight!!!! i want that!!!! you did awesome with your PRs in all disciplines. congratulations – now hopefully the Girl can spoil you while you rest up.
For some reason I thought it only reached 80. It was freaking hot though and smoke from the forest fire didn’t help anything. You pulled out a great race, nice work! We must have missed each other on the run.
Congrats on the finish! Looking forward to reading the full report.
Congrats! And awesome job on the PRs!
That is an amazing time, especially when the brutal heat is factored into the equation.
Congratulations on a fine race.
And nice job on the new, IM Canada 09 blog header.
congratulations on all your prs! 95F?? that is some hot!
I guess there’s nothing for it but to do it again!
Congrats Rainmaker!!
Awesome job can’t wait to read the full report!!!!!
Congratulations! I look forward to reading your full report.
Man, those hot runs can be a drag, can’t they? Glad to hear you made it through – and PRs in all 3 disciplines is pretty darn sweet.
Somebody DID die at the race though, right? Maybe shouldn’t joke about that.
Good point Donald – I completely forgot about that while writing my original intro. Just removed the Monty Python reference…
Congrats on the PR! I tracked you all day while working on the diss. It was a fun distraction.
HA! You did awesome for the heat you encountered. Now you have an idea how I have been feeling on my afternoon run workouts here in Houston when it has been in the high 90’s and 100’s….lousy!
Great job and Congratulations!!!
Well nice job for finsihing in that heat! Looking forward to the race report!
Great job RM! You are awesome!
CONGRATS Ray – can’t wait to read your race report!
Congrats on the new PRs and awesome accomplishment Ray! I can’t wait to hear the details.
Hi Ray,
Congratulations on finishing your 2nd Iron Man and finishing well! We were thinking about you and texting back and forth with Colin, seeing where you were throughout the day.
Well done, sir. Very impressive!!
Pat would 2nd this — since his work blocks this site, I’m responding for both of us.
