Good evening!

This is The Girl, writing to you for another edition of the DC Rainmaker weekly newsletter. It is officially Friday evening here on East Coast America and I am cramming to get this week’s edition on the hot presses before midnight! The kiddos are finally asleep, I have a whopper of a pizza slice in one hand, a frosty beer on my right, and laptop in lap! So buckle up for this round of the DCR Newsletter.

As always, if you are a new to the DCR newsletter, you can catch up with the newsletter archives here

Here we go!

As you may know, we are still on “vacation” here in the US of A. However, vacation is not a word Ray truly understands to the fullest. In our time this week with my family Ray has still managed one of the most anticipated reviews of the year, The Fenix 5 Plus. Not only did he kick out a bazillion word document for your entertainment, but there are two Fenix 5 Plus videos you can check out as well. One video was described by Ray as “a tidy video… summarizing thousands of words”, which is the in-depth review film version. The other is focused on the Fenix 5 Plus User Interface details.

The latest blog post is a Tech Tidbits round up for you. Including news on the PowerPod, and Garmin’s unexpected Fenix 5 (non-Plus) Galileo update. This post is also interesting for those anticipating the excitement of Eurobike. Ray gives a bit of an inside look into what his schedule of reviews/posts will look like. Also, confirming my point that he doesn’t know how to take a break!

Now if you still need more tech goodness, pop over to the DCR YouTube channel and have a looksie.

In-Depth Thoughts from The Girl

As I said above, we are still in the USA for some family time. The week before we were at Ray’s family’s home and this week we traveled south to the Siesta Key, Florida for my family. We have vacationed here on the gulf of Florida since before I was in kindergarten. If you have followed along for the last few years, you know we have bounced from Virginia, to Paris, to Australia, to Amsterdam, and everywhere else in between. Because of this, it’s sometimes hard for me to have a feeling of where home is. This week here on the Florida keys is the closest feeling of being “home” I have felt in a while. This place really tugs on the heart strings.

Meanwhile, as I’ve been puttering around in the land of nostalgia this week, Ray has been puttering around in the garage. Most of the time I don’t bother him when he is in work mode, but since this week included visitors I figured it couldn’t hurt. Ray doesn’t always fulfill his hostess duties well when he is in “new gadget mode”. So my contribution was simply providing ice cold water to two pretty cool lookin’ bike dudes who showed up one morning… They were all clanging around this massive “thing” in the garage for a few hours, and Florida garages can get pretty hot! Then of course we had the various delivery guys. Mr. DHL, Mr. FedEx, Mr. UPS, and Mr. Postman came throughout the week, some on repeat occasions. All of this of course, in preparation for the famed Eurobike Show in a couple weeks.

Have no fear, I did manage 3 more runs this week, but photos are MIA... But I promise they happened!

That is it for this week’s newsletter. I had high hopes for it to make it to the innerwebs last night, but it appears I fell asleep. And of course Ray photo documented it… I’m not even kidding, this is 10:26pm last evening.
