Something look funny? Read this newsletter online!

Hey There Newsletter Readers!

Okay, so we have a fairly short newsletter today. Which might be misinterpreted as a “slow week”, but let me assure you, no November that I can remember with this guy has a slow moment in sight. So let’s get down to it shall we?

But first. Are you new around here? You might want to take a peek at the Newsletter archives and catch up on some of the banter.

SO, first up is super important! We have the much anticipated semi-annual Clever Training VIP Sale is here! Basically, it’s 20% off almost anything, including trainers and power meters. Plus some of the newer gear like the Polar Vantage and Suunto 9 series watches. Be sure to click using the link from Ray’s post and go find the deal of your 2018 dreams. Don’t worry about me here on the Newsletter, you can always come back later! Bye-Bye.

Now, if you’re sitting there freaking out that there is a major sale, but you haven’t done your homework, fear not. Here is the link to Ray’s 2018 Smart Trainer Buyer Guide. This post was up last week, but maybe you missed it! Good thing I’m here to remind you! While the sale is certainly not limited to just smart trainers, I believe from last year, this was the biggest and best sale of the season. With 20% off of your choice item, I don’t think you’re going to see this spread of diverse equipment and this quantity of product availability again before the holidays. So, go go now, and the newsletter will still be here in your inbox later.

Okay, so for those of you who are left, I’ll start you off with the link to his Week in Review! There’s a super cool video in there of an Eagle flying through a full stadium while wearing a GoPro. Bringing new meaning to a birds eye view? As well, the post shared the super cool Zwift announcement of an art challenge. Basically, they are asking if you can create something visually appealing with your ride report? At first it seemed interesting to me, but then I saw their example (below) and figured I should stick to creating desserts… or possibly Ray blooper videos! Can’t wait to see the Zwift entries!

Last but not least, yesterday Ray hosted another Live Q&A on YouTube. I’m sorry I didn’t have the newsletter ready to roll for that one! But Ray said the priority was me building shelves in the storage room… So, don’t you worry, I left some comments and questions for him on the blog to be addressed during the interview!

Now, if you’re sitting there stewing on the fact that you missed the Live Stream from yesterday, I’m going to just tell you something my mom told me throughout my entire childhood. (Please read with a nagging mom voice… I can say that because 1) She’s my mom, and 2) Now I too, don a nagging mom voice) “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”.

I have told you fools, for the last 24 straight newsletters, that you can subscribe to the DC Rainmaker YouTube Channel. And if you were subscribed you would have received a notification that the livestream was starting. So, there you have it. I’m now an “I told you so” kind of mom. Thanks for putting me in that position. Go hit the subscribe button now.

Sadly, there wasn’t any other new YouTube content since the last Newsletter. However, in my clicking around on Ray’s YouTube page I did notice that “The Interview” piece that I did with Ray, now has over 2.5K views. I’m mildly terrified by this. While I do believe that the jokes I tell to myself, in my head, are on the same level of all the greats on late night TV, it’s a whole different game to know some of you actually watched the video. I am in fact currently contemplating my next move.

Anyway, that’s all for this week’s round up of Tech goodness. If you still have time, swing down past all of those not so many blog thumbnails and find out what is new in our world!

In-Depth Thoughts from The Girl

Okay Okay, here we are in the “In-Depth Thoughts” section. But to be honest, my brain can’t handle going too in depth today. Today I am sitting in the new DCR Cave, for the first time writing the newsletter! And as I sit here click clacking away on my keyboard, I am currently trying to block out the insanely loud and ridiculous music that our new office neighbors are cranking out.

For realz, on the same play list those num-nuts are next door playing a tribute to Boyz II Men, followed by some King of Swing- Lindy Hop style jazz, and now, I kid you not, Metallica! WTF!?!?! Seriously, what is happening? And yes, I do know the Lindy Hop, please do not forget that a big part of my heart still remains in South Carolina. And yes, I have conceded to the fact there is less than a 0.01% chance I’ll ever convince Ray to learn how to swing dance. The point is, we are FINALLY in our new office space and, well, shit. I now need noise cancelling headphones.

On a positive note, I’ll repeat my what I said above! “We are finally in our new office space!” Woot woot! The contractors were well past the timeline and well over budget, but here we are, finally! So, the last few days have been packed with errands to different stores picking up all the little stuff no one thinks about. Toilet paper, shower rods, dish dryers, and brooms!

On top of that, also buying all of the things we have so much looked forward too! What is that?

Yes, storage boxes and storage shelves to put them on! Finally, Ray has enough space to store all of the things he so badly needed to organize! And for the critics out there. Had we had a space like this about 9 months ago, maybe Ray wouldn’t have lost his Polar V800 that everyone was so pissed about him being unable to find for comparison shots to the new Polar Vantage! And no, I wouldn’t let him buy a new one until he looked again, for the 1,079th time! To which then he found it, and I didn’t have to deal with another purchase receipt!

And while shopping is exciting for me, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my first official Zwift ride with Ray in our new finished space. We have always talked about how great it will be to be able to take a quick lunch break, hop on the bikes for a ride together, and then shower and back to work in the same space. This new space is shaping up to be a good thing!

With that, I really have to go. I made a commitment to getting the kitchen portion of the Studio unpacked and washed by the end of the day. Hopefully, maybe I can get myself organized enough for next week and do a full “The Girl- Studio Walk Through” for you! Ray has been doing some construction updates for his VIP Blog Supporters, but maybe I can do one and get that in your inboxes for next week! You’ll have to wait and see!

As always, thanks for reading the newsletter, and thank you for making sure Ray knows you like the newsletters too!

~The Girl.
