Ho Ho Ho Everyone!

Well I have returned from Canada and we are in the final home stretch before the big fat man descends millions of chimneys. Anperish the thought he attempts to bring with him one of those smart bikes from the Peloton commercial. But I’m getting ahead of myself! I’ll get into who is getting what from Santa this year down in my section below!

Now, last week I had a major FAIL! Thanks for all the emails trying to let me know/help me out. Unfortunately, once I press GO on the email, I can’t take it back or edit what hits your inboxes! So sadly, you all received a broken link to Ray’s now famous Fisher Price Smart Cycle In-Depth Review. This one should now work!! And even if you have already read it, you might want a second go at it now as the comments have filled in! Some of you folks are hilarious, I love reading comments on good hearted things. Though someone on FaceBook clearly doesn’t follow Ray closely and made the comment “Take your kids outside and learn how to ride a real bike”… Ummmm I definitely appreciate his sentiment there, but ummm, yeah. Our kids play outside in all seasons, and they can already ride bikes, scooters, swim, learning to ski, etc. Anyways there’s always one commenter bursting my happy bubble :)

Imagine… Ray’s buys me a Peloton Bike and the Peanuts this Fisher Price bike! Hahaha - he’ll win most controversial dad of the year!

Moving on!

So what else is on the blog? Well Ray took his first crack at the new Zwift Crit City Race Course. Results sound pretty positive, in that Ray said he could see doing it again. I saw the words “Crit Racing” and shuttered. Though I have started back on Zwift again…approximately once. We will see how that goes. I need some more peer pressure I suppose!

Next up, Ray gave us some insight to the latest YouTube video he collaborated on with DesFit. Here the guys got together to chat all things 2019 Sports Wearables. I believe they took a look at 19 different watches that were released this calendar year, and Des was sure to leave a few bloopers in there for your entertainment!

Next, what’s a week of work without an in-depth review? Here we have the DJI Mavic Mini In-Depth Review. Check it out to see if all the cuts made to get this puppy under 250g was worth the trade off!

And last but not least, we have a rare sighting, a Friday Tidbits post. Rays continuous effort to make me miss home and long for a mini box of TimBits, a double-double coffee, in a doubled up cup, all paid for with loonies and toonies! My Canadian peeps are with me on that one, Eh?

Alrighty then! Moving on to the other parts of the interwebs where Ray also frequents!

The FIT File with DC Rainmaker and GPLAMA:

The latest podcast is up, Episode 96. Take a listen to why Ray is highly displeased with Nest Cam these days (me too, in case you're curious)!

And for your streaming convenience, you can pick your fancy of streaming platforms via iTunes, Google Play, or Spotify. As always, don’t forget to hit those subscribe buttons for updates… and to make Ray and Shane feel warm and fuzzy inside.

In-Depth Thoughts from The Girl

Ho Ho there Newsletter fam!

Well, tis the Friday before Christmas and my Christmas wish just came true! I actually JUST talked the Boss into skipping out early from work to come wine shopping with me, and then maybe to our local bike shop to checkout some mamafiets e-options!

We already have an early daycare pick-up planned for today, so what’s an extra hour anyways? Today’s a BIG day! Christmas tree procurement day! So things will be getting extra festive soon! Especially since I had one of those “oh gawd, I’m a horrible mom moments” the other day! Myself and the Original Peanut were walking to the grocery store, and we could see several homes already had Christmas trees up and decorated in their living rooms. To which the Peanut says to me, in a very matter of fact manner, and I quote “We won’t have Christmas this year. It’s too late. We don’t have a Christmas tree; they are all gone from the store now. And now there’s no Christmas for us.”

Gulp. Eyes bulging. Sorry Kid.

So with that massive heaping pile of mom guilt, on top of having left for Canada last week, I guess we go and get the Tree ASAP! Here’s a picture of last year’s tree adventure, in case you forgot! And YES, Ray gets the tree via bike, for I think the 7th year running!

Amongst other things I need to do now, like right now! I have to pop online to see if I can actually still get that Minnie Mouse Duplo set delivered before the 24th! And, print ALLLL the Christmas cards that are inevitably NOT going to make it into anyones mailboxes before Christmas. And then truly, I think I will just go ahead and order myself some hilarious mugs so when Ray crawls out of bed in the mornings, he can already know my mood just by what mug I’m using! Take your pick! Mug 1, Mug 2, or Mug 3. Merry Christmas Boss. Bonus points for those who get that last one!

Well I’m getting the eyeball look from Ray now. As I was the one who talked him into giving up work and coming home, and now I’m the one sitting at the computer! Doh! Off we goes to procure wine, more bikes, and our family tree!

Oh, and bonus. If you’re stuck on what to give that someone extra “special” this year (think that sports tech athlete friend), you can always give the gift of being a DCR Supporter.

As always, thanks for reading. Have a wonderful holiday season. Until next week,

~The Girl
