Funny, I got this postcard in the mail the other day from my employer (which btw is not Premera). I’m not quite sure they knew the irony of it when they sent it.
“Stressed? Tired? Burned out? Try exercise.”
Hmm…I’m pretty sure at this point that all three of those symptoms when I get them are DUE to exercise. More exercise is not the solution!
But – we’re not done yet (no relation to ‘I’m not dead yet!’), let’s check out the flip side for a little more subtle humor.
“Incorporate Physical Activity into your daily life – take the stairs, walk the dog, or mow the lawn.”
Aside from not having a dog, or a lawn – I’m there with ya on the physical activity into my daily life thought. I wonder if a 14 mile casual Saturday long run, followed by a 60 mile Saturday bike ride is what they mean? Perhaps they just meant that 3,000 yard swim the next morning.
I do like their last suggestion though – ‘get a massage’. I’ve never had one of those (professional)…maybe someday.
